We are PHYSEC, a young company that is passionately dedicated to IT security. PHYSEC GmbH is one of Germany’s most successful startups and one of the most innovative providers of cybersecurity solutions for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. PHYSEC began as a startup at the renowned Horst-Görtz Institute for IT Security at Ruhr University Bochum. We protect critical infrastructure as well as electricity and water meters from hacker attacks and collaborate with international research institutions (e.g., Harvard, Princeton) and outstanding partners around the world. What you’ll do with us:
During your dual degree program, you’ll rotate through various business departments and gain experience with many exciting tasks and tools to help PHYSEC continue to advance in the energy and water management sectors. In the process, you’ll acquire and continually build upon your knowledge in finance and controlling, marketing, and—in particular—market analysis, customer management, and sales.

And after you graduate?
Worried about having to find a new employer after graduation? Not with us! We invest heavily in making you a strong member of the PHYSEC team. During your studies, you’ll receive targeted support so that we can offer you a position afterward that aligns with your goals and strengths.

What we’re looking for:
You have a strong interest in the energy and water sectors, enjoy analyzing data, and aren’t afraid of numbers or software. Ideally, you already have experience using Excel,
Word, and PowerPoint. You enjoy communicating and are a team player. You have earned your high school diploma (Abitur) or will graduate in the summer of 2026. You have good
grades in your core subjects and enjoyed studying economics and politics in school. Your ability to communicate in English rounds out your profile.

Duration of the program:
Your dual degree program, which combines classroom learning with practical experience, at Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences (HRW) in Mülheim and at PHYSEC GmbH in Bochum lasts approximately 9 semesters (4.5 years), depending on your individual learning pace.
